Two checks for $25,000 were presented to this year’s beneficiaries: Folds of Hon- or, which provides annual educational scholarships to the families of those killed or disabled while in active duty, and Semper Fi Fund, which provides immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to critically ill and injured members of all branch- es of the U.S. Armed Forces. Helping Our Heroes Foundation is a local organization founded in 2011 to provide resources to those who have served our country during their recovery and transition back into their communities. Master Sergeant Christopher Griffo, Event Co-Chair Michael Marasco, Folds of Honor Regional Development Officer SarahWhite, Mike Engles, and Captain Mason Dill VISIONARY WOMEN LUNCHEON Juliette Fowler Communities held its 4th Annual Visionary Women Luncheon on May 3 at the Omni Dallas Hotel.The lun- cheon, which raised $240,000 for Fowler Communities’Annu- al Fund, was created to honor those who exemplify the spir- it of the organization’s founder and Dallas pioneer, Juliette Peak Fowler. Virginia Chandler Dykes was honored as the 2016 Vision- ary Woman. Mrs. Dykes is known nationally for her work in rehabilitation, adult and adolescent psychiatry, eating disor- ders, hand splinting and acute physical disabilities as well as her ongoing commitment to provide scholarship assistance to occupational therapy stu- dents. The luncheon also honored TCU Senior Hannah Canter- bury, a social work major, with the Juliette Fowler Faith and Service Award. Juliette Fowler Communities is a more than 120-year old intergenerational residential community located in East Dallas.
