McKamyTiner will serve as this year’s luncheon chair. McKamy shared with guests her heartfelt stirring story of need and donation. At age 27, she was one of the young- est kidney donors in the United States when she donated a kidney to a dear friend who was in dire need. Ian Arena, the grateful recipient of McKamy’s kidney, who is a healthy survivor today, joined McKamy in receiving a resounding standing ovation. Since 1999, the dedicated volunteers at KidneyTexas, Inc. have worked tirelessly with their supporters to raise $3.1 million for local efforts to improve the ability to diag- nose and manage kidney disease.
