CISDR held its Dream Achievers Luncheon atThe Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gar- den. Noted Dallas philanthropist Caroline Rose Hunt was honored as the recipient of the 2016 Dream Achievers Award. Ms. Hunt who was named asOne of the 50 Most Powerful Women in the USAby Ladies Home Journal has long been a great advocate in the Dallas arts and educa- tion scenes. CISDR operates in 77 schools in 12 school dis- tricts in Dallas Collin Ellis Rockwall and Hunt Counties. The non-profit was founded in 1985 to address the growing number of high school dropouts in Dallas and sur- rounding areas. Meyerson Symphony Center. The Fire and Ice themed event was chaired by Gina Betts and Michael Flores while Amanda and Brint Ryan served as Honorary Chairs. The style show was produced by Jan Strimple and the fashions were provided by Highland Park Village. This years event raised a record-breaking 852000 for blood cancer research and to improve the lives of patients and their families. Luke Lange received the Spirit of Tom Landry Award. George Alden Ryan was the recipient of the Lynda Adleta Heart of Gold Award. The Linda Somerville Memorial Hero Award was presented to Edgar A. Robinson.
